jpg files can no longer be read

Hello,

I have a strange issue. I recently installed dbPoweramp to test it on a Windows Server 2008 (32 bit). Audio conversion works flawless, but when the program is installed, I cannot open jpg files: every program (!) states they are corrupt.
After removing dbPoweramp, all jpg files open perfectly.

- Windows Server 2008 (fully updated, running in trial)
- latest dbPoweramp with all codecs

Don't know if it is related, but the pop-up function in Windows explorer also doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

dBpoweramp cannot possibly effect the opening of jpg files in other programs, dbpoweramp neither knows of jpg or interferes with the opening of any file including audio tracks by any program.

Yes, that is what I though, but I can only report what I'm observing...
I have tried jpg files on various drive partitions, scanned drives for errors, ...

When it is installed, every program in which I tried to open any jpg file reports the jpg file is corrupt. I'm as puzzled as you are, I've never seen any program cause such a behaviour, and also have no clue as to why it could occur (the other programs don't need dbpoweramp to access the files, nor have the files been altered by dbpoweramp).
With the program removed, everything works as it should.

This of course would seem to point to dbpoweramp as the cause, but again, it seems odd to me (and I'm thinking more along the lines of some weird Windows problem).
I did have installed dbpoweramp using Altiris Software Virtualization (version 2.1 SP1); there is a new version since Altiris was bought by Symantec, so I'll give that one a go... Maybe this has something to do with it...
