    MP3 to AAC Conversion

Hi There - I am contemplating buying DBPoweramp to convert some MP3 files that I have to AAC.

If possible, I would like to preserve the original audio quality when I do this conversion from MP3 to AAC.

Does converting from MP3 to AAC result in some quality loss of the audio content?

    Thanks in advance!

Converting from one lossy format to another, such as what you are doing here, does result in a small loss of quality, but not much. Keep the same bitrate when you convert to AAC.

mp3 >> AAC does loose quality, the amount depends on bitrate used.

Thanks for the replies. I can live with the slight loss of quality. I recently bought a Nintendo DSI for my kids and wanted to convert their existing MP3 files to AAC for the DSI's audio player (it only supports AAC not MP3). I don't think my kids will notice the slide degradation in quality.
