weird thing happening: conversion is "finished", but the results say differently.

    hi everyone,

i downloaded dbpoweramp last night and it was working fine until about 20 minutes ago. now when i try to convert a FLAC to MP3, the conversion process is almost instantaneous, and the end result of a 320kb/s mp3 is a file under 10kb. i don't get any error messages or anything, so this description is the best i can offer for now. does anyone have any solutions to this?

if you need more info, just ask!

    thanks,
    greg

Try converting the FLAC file to wave, what length is it? then convert the wave to mp3, what length again?

it does the same thing as it does when i try to go from FLAC to mp3. the length of the songs rang from 2:00-3:00+. The FLAC's range from 16 megs to 32 megs. very strange.

so after reading this thread it looks like we are having a similar issue: the files i am having trouble with also lack a track length. i wasn't sure why you were asking originally but now i do (i was giving you approximate lengths).

is there a fix for this?

If you hold the mouse over the flac file, what length is shown?

Which version of dBpoweramp are you using?

Ok thanks (was asking as there is a new beta flac codec with streaming abilities which might be causing issues).
