Editing the Genres available to ID tagging?

Because I am a lousy typist, I have inadvertently added "new" genres by typing the beginning of a genre name (eg.: "New W" to get New Wave) and then not arrowing over to accept the tagging program's suggestion. As a result, I now have such unusual genres as "Am", "Amvient", "New W", and the like. My fault, I know.

But is there any way to either a) edit the genre list -- which I would like to also do due to the fact that I try, for sanity's sake, to limit myself to far fewer genres than the tagging program supports? Or b) just getting rid of the bogus listings, at minimum?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
