wave 24 bit 2 stereo vs 5.1 surround?

So a wave will not convert from 16-bit, 2 channel stereo
into a 24-bit 5.1 surround sound?

I thought i was doing this before last release but maybe not. Is it possible?

You can do so, but you would not have any extra information in the channels, so would be little point in doing so.
