I need to make some mp3 files for streaming through a flash player and thought that 96kbps at 44.1kHz would be ok for that.
I know Lame automatically reduces the sample rate when encoding to low bitrates, e.g. 96kbps is reduced to 32kHz, 64kbps is reduced to 24kHz. (Is this because it should sound better that way?)
So anyway I am trying to override the Lame behaviour...
Using SSRC by way of DSP does not override Lame. But using advanced options Frequency setting does override Lame. If "Professional Frequency Conversion" option is set in dBpowerAmp Configuration and I use the Advanced option frequency setting, will this give exactly the same encoding as DSP resampler?
Also is FhG still be better than Lame at low bitrates or has Lame closed the gap now?
thanks
