Question about using dbpoweramp as external encoder

Hello, first i want to say that dbpoweramp is one of those things that are pure gold, developer of the program has done an excellent job !

    My n00b question is this:

I use J River Media Center 13 to sync my music to my portable device, and i want to use nero aac to convert the flac files to m4a in the device.

JRMC has the option to "use external encoder" and I want to use nero aac via dbpoweramp.

I used the follow conf and works good:

    EXE path: "C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\CoreConverter.exe"
    Parameters: -infile=%IN -outfile=%OUT -convert_to="m4a Nero (AAC)" -q .45

But output file is created with no metadata (artist, title, album, cover art)

Is there any option or parameters to add to coreconverter to properly tag the output M4As?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if im missing something, i already used the search with no success.

If you convert the flac file to m4a by right click >> convert to, is the album art transfered?

Yes, if i convert using dbpoweramp convert to is perfect, all tags and album art in the output file, and my device can read it perfectly.

I dont know how to done this via commandline to j river media center be able to convert and sync my library automaticly to my device, the thing works but no tags in the output file via coreconverter.

      Thank you Spoon!

Unless MC is creating a 2nd file without tags, using core-converter will transfer the ID tags, try running coreconverter manually from the command prompt (replace IN and OUT with real filenames)

Spoon you are completly right. I ran Coreconverter.exe from commandline and the output file has the tags. I dont know what happens then, im researching right now the mc process !

Re: Question about using dbpoweramp as external encoder

I think i found the problem, MC sync process is this, when clic on sync button:

1.-Converts the file to wav, without tags.
2.-Sends the wav as input to external encoder (coreconverter).
3.-Coreconverter encodes the file as it should, but as the input wav file is tagless cant write tags to outputed file.
4.-MC recieves the file from coreconverter and then it tries to tag it, but since mc dont have native m4a support it cant do it.

So, is nothing wrong with dbpoweramp, is mc thing.

Thank you so much Spoon and thanks for this great soft !
