Problem copying cover art when converting

I'm using the Batch Converter to make MP3s of some of the FLAC files I've ripped with the CD ripper to use on my portable. There is a 'cover.jpg' containing the artwork in each album folder.

I've added an Id Tag Processing action to copy the artwork, but I can't get it to work. In both 'Import Album Art From' and 'Export Album Art To' I have 'cover.jpg'. In Output Location I have Folder set to 'My Documents\mp3s\' and Dynamic set to '[artist]\[album]\[track] - [title]'.

The converter works fine and correctly produces the MP3 files, but the cover.jpg is never copied across.

Am I doing something wrong? I'm using the programs under WINE on Debian if that makes any difference but everything else seems to work with problems.

    Thanks

Does the album art show up in the files when you look at the properties?

I'm not sure what you mean? I don't have the album art embeded in the tags if that's what you're asking. I just have the ripper save it as cover.jpg in the same folder as the flac files. Does it need to be embeded for the action to work?

      Thanks

What LTData wants to know is do the converted files (mp3s) contain album art afterwards?

I'm not sure if the ID Tag DSP looks in the target or destination folder for the album art to import and/or export. Could this be the issue?

Oh I see. No as far as I can tell there is no artwork in the mp3 files.

I expected it to look in the source folder for the file named in the 'Import Album Art From' field but I don't know if this is actually the case. Doesn't it normally create the destination folder during the conversion so it's unlikely to find it there, and if it was there it wouldn't need to do anything?

It should import from cover.jpg in the source folder.

              Spoon thanks for confirming that.

So should it be able to import from cover.jpg in the source folder and export to cover.jpg in the destination folder? I prefer to have a separate image rather than embedding it in the MP3s.

              Thanks.

Re: Problem copying cover art when converting

Good so it should work. Is there some way to work out why it isn't? I've tried asking for an information or error log at the end of the conversion, but I never get one. If it's trying to launch it in Notepad I guess I won't get it as I'm on Wine, but I've searched for a saved log file and can't find anything. Would it log a problem with ID tags?

Here's a listing of a source folder I've just converted:
                  cover.jpg
                  Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 01 - Atom and Evil.flac
                  Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 02 - Fear.flac
                  Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 03 - Bible Black.flac
                  Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 04 - Double the Pain.flac
Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 05 - Rock and Roll Angel.flac
Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 06 - The Turn of the Screw.flac
                  Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 07 - Eating the Cannibals.flac
                  Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 08 - Follow the Tears.flac
                  Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 09 - Neverwhere.flac
                  Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know - 10 - Breaking into Heaven.flac

                  After the conversion I have:
                  01 - Atom and Evil.mp3
                  02 - Fear.mp3
                  03 - Bible Black.mp3
                  04 - Double the Pain.mp3
                  05 - Rock and Roll Angel.mp3
                  06 - The Turn of the Screw.mp3
                  07 - Eating the Cannibals.mp3
                  08 - Follow the Tears.mp3
                  09 - Neverwhere.mp3
                  10 - Breaking into Heaven.mp3

So all the files have been correctly renamed and converted but cover.jpg hasn't been copied across.
