Converting WAV files in 24-bit/48Khz to AIFF 16-bit/48Khz files

    All,

If I need to convert WAV files in 24-bit/48Khz to AIFF 16-bit/48Khz files - do I use a DSP or simply put the above values in the "Convert to..." dialog box?

Also, is there a bit difference between a 24-bit and a 16-bit file, so when I compare the WAV and the AIFF files using Foobar it will throw up mismatches?

    Many thanks!

Comparing a 16 bit and 24bit file will for sure show mismatches. Either way (on convert to page, or with DSP effects) can be used.

      Thanks Spoon.

Do you know if there's a noticable difference in sound quality between 16-bit and 24-bit? I don't have a high-end system to try these on.

      Thanks!

        For most people no.
