    ID Tags

Hi - Every time I rip CD tracks, the ID tag displays info from a single CD track I ripped a 2 wks ago. It does this for every new file. I've downloading all patches; reinstalled dBpower AMP; tried all the available configurations for tags--the smart v1 & v2, the regular versions, just one or the other, and not having the tag info preserved at all. Same thing each time. Thanks for your help!

Perhaps dMC can no longer write to the registry? An idtag cache is stored in :

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\C DGrab

You're right about it being a registry issue. The idtag cache was actually in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\d mc-DSP. The tags' text values were set to those of the single CD track I mentioned before. I backed the registry up and then deleted just the text strings. Now I just get tags with no info. Forgive me--I know next to nothing about registries except that someone like me shouldn't mess with them! Can you tell me how to get the ID info writing into the registry again? Or, if that involves too much hand-holding on your part, where I could go to get more directions on this? Thanks again!

That section is a 'DSP Effect' normally you dont need these - if you had set one it would overwrite the sent tag from Audio CD Input - do a Convert With Options (from Audio CD Input) and remove all 'DSP Effects'

That did the trick -- thanks! (I put in a positive review for you at ZDNet)
