    Error converting m4a to mp3

I'm using the registered version of dMC-r13.1. When I attempt to convert any m4a to mp3, I get the dreaded error "error writing audio data to StdIn Pipe [dEncoder::EncodeBlock]".

I did a quick search in the forum and saw that quite a few people get this error with various conversions.

Any solutions? I initially thought it was because I was using the free version. But when I paid for it and got the registered version, the error remains. It doesn't matter which m4a file - any m4a conversion to mp3 gives this error. And it doesn't matter whether I use VBR, ABR or CBR.

Please help. I fear I may have wasted my $24.

Oh, and of course I've installed all the necessary codecs.

Try converting the m4a file to wave, does it work? what are the wave properties (channels, frequency, bit depth?)

Yes, it converts to wav fine. Also converts to wma fine. Only mp3 gave the error.

Convert the wave file you have created to mp3, does that work?

I found out the problem. The Lame converter only converts songs with English names as their titles. When the song titles come in other Asian languages (eg Chinese), it doesn't covert.

            Any workaround for this problem?

Realised that this is a unicode problem that is probably being solved - hopefully. I've downloaded 13.2 beta and it's still not working.

Hopefully it gets fixed in the next update.

Please send over one m4a file:
