Program hangs

very often, when converting from .ra to .mp3, DMC just hangs...
Tried installing and reinstalling, also tried different .ra files, but the problen continues. The op sys is xp...help please

When Converting Real Audio it takes exactly the playt length of the RA file to convert, and the percentage bar does not work.
