Is it bad to have to ID3 Tag versions in one mp3 file?

I have files that I downloaded metadata to with Windows Media Player and after I do that dBpoweramp says that the files have both ID3v2.3 and ID3v1.1. Is it bad to have both of those tag versions in one file?

    Thanks,

No it shouldn't be a problem. What format are the files?

ID3v2.4 tags however can caused issues and are not supported by dMC.

      There mp3 files.
Can I edit the id3v1.1 tags with dBpoweramp?

        Also I have another question,

Is it safe to use the Find Album Info feature of Windows Media Player?

Will it do anything to the actual audio data to the file?

Also, the main reason why is was using the Find Album Info feature was to get the correct composers. Will the id3v2.3 composer field still be there after windows media player adds the the correct composer names using id3v1.1.

When you edit the tags with dBpoweramp, both v1.1 and 2.3 are updated at the same time, be aware that v1.1 can only hold limited tags.

So if I edit the tags with Windows Media Player it will edit the v1.1 tags. Will the v2.3 ones update as well?

I think Windows Media Player uses enhanced id3v1.1 tags.

You would have to test WMP.
