    dqpoweramp conversion features and registration

I've tested bdpoweramp the last weeks and it's a really nice program. Great work to all developers!!!

Yesterday I therefore removed all my mp'3 and manually started a new batch conversion from my "Master Library" full of flac music files to mp3 again.

I'm only currenctly wondering 3 things:
    1) which registrationtype do I need if I just want to use the conversion feature of dqpoweramp? I think the registration options are not very clear.

    2) I couldn't setup dqpoweramp in such a way that I would convert all my flac's to another directory "MP3 Library for remote devices" based on the orginal file location and filename. I needed to programmably setup the new dynamic file name system, while I ideally would have liked to keep my mp3 structured on the same way as my flac's but with only a different file extension. having both flac and mp3 in the same directory won't work for me (that was the other default option).

    3) is it possible to start dqpoweramp by commandline to convert a whole directory? something like "dbpoweramp d:/flacs d:/mps"? I saw you could trigger individual conversion but didn't see anything about whole folders.

    your help would be appriciated.

    check the differences here http://www.dbpoweramp.com/db-versions.htm

    3) The Batch Converter can be used to convert multiple folders.

Re: 3) The Batch Converter can be used to convert multiple folders.

based on http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=18491 dbpoweramp doesn't support mirroring your master libary

in this post its explained as:

      Rename a file from
      c:\parent1\parent2\parentn\Apple\blah1\blah2\blah3 \blahx\filename.wav
      to
      c:\parent1\parent2\parentn\Oranges\blah1\blah2\bla h3\blahx\filename.wav

Where the number n can vary, but is always the folder immediately before "Apple," and where the number x can vary, but is always the folder immediately before filename.wav (This will seem less esoteric if you imagine e.g. that Apples is a lossless and Oranges a lossy music folder whose folder depth varies depending on the drive, but always have the names Apples and Oranges.)

Is this true? I can figure out how to get this pretty logic feature working...

        it seems the setting:

        [TRIMFIRSTFOLDER][TRIMFIRSTFOLDER][TRIMFIRSTFOLDER][TRIMFIRSTFOLDER][TRIMFIRSTFOLDER][TRIMFIRSTFOLDER][origpath][][][][][][]\[origfilename]
        does the job to convert:

        D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Music\Master Library\...

        into

        D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Music\Remote Library\...

...or am I overlooking any maximum stringlengths?
Anyway, I'm happy and ready to go testdrive this setting.

Also, note that if you use that string, you need Dynamic Naming which is a Reference feature.
