DirectShow filter for '.ram' file types is not installed, or audio file is corrupt.

I keep getting this error message:
DirectShow filter for '.ram' file types is not installed, or audio file is corrupt. [clDecoder::Open]

I checked and the DirectShow filter does have .ram installed. I uninstalled RealPlayer and downloaded Real Alternative.

What gives? I bought the full version -- I thought I could get this to work.

Well, I tried this, and I'm still getting the same error message.

Do the files play in Windows Media Player?

No, though it does play in "Media Player Classic"/Real Alternative.

It not playing in WMP seems to indicate a problem with the RealMedia Splitter. Try reinstalling Real Alternative and making sure this box is checked.

Thanks. So, I uninstalled and then reinstalled RealAlternative and made sure the splitter box was checked. I'm still getting the same error message when I try to convert the file in DBpoweramp.

How big is the ram file? Does it now play in WMP? Unless it plays in WMP you'll not be able to convert it.
