Aux Input: Track Length

Is there a way to make aux input record to exactly the same length as the smart track length,
without using auto end or auto start.
I sometimes have problems when there is a long silence at the start of a track and the first few seconds are missed out,
which messes up the smart track length.

If you switch off Auto End and set a smart track length, it will only record that amount.
