    Real audio files - problem

    Vista 32/64 bit system
    dbPoweramp 13.1 registered
    Real Alternate 1.9.0 (latest)
    encoderreal audio release 5
    decoder directshow decoder
    directshow.dll

    DSExt = // Add supported DirectShow file type extensions, type only one extension per
    // line (replace .xyz below), re-run 'dMC Configuration' after adding new, for example:
    //
    // .ac3
    // .abc
    //

    .ra
    .rm

    A search gave me some pointers but they didnt work for
    me.
    I can not tell if the ra, rm was added to the configuration because the window isnt resizable.

    Converting gives me the same problem i see others posting
    about. A 200+ converting speed and a 30kb file, 960 milli-
    second length. For winamp and WMP, the file is so short,
    i can't tell if it plays or not but obviously, something is
    wrong. The original file does play in windows media classic.

    I have dbP 13.1 on drive C and dbP 12 on a different
    HD (XP) (hot-pluggable HD) neither version will work.

    Confused,

    Note: the old Aux program will do the conversion to a wav file
    correctly and it will playback OK.

      To clarify, do the original Real Audio files play in WMP?

        No, neither .ra or .rm will play in WMP.

        In 13.1 folder:
        Decoder folder shows:
        DirectShow.dll, DSExt.
        wma.dll, wma v9.1.dll, wma v9.dll

        Encoder folder shows:
        Real Audio (Helix).dll (Rel 5 Using Helix SDK v11 dated: 22/1/2007.)
        wma10.dll

        The output file only shows as a 30kb wav file with a
        length of 960 milli-seconds.

        WMP results are the same as winamp.

        thanks for the help,

          Also the .ra and .rm extensions do show up in the directshow
          decoder (from the configuration program)
