    samplerate conversion using dbpoweramp

    hi
got a problem converting a 16bit/48khz dat into the cd-16bit/44,1khz format.

normally i use ssrc (Shibatch Samplerate Converter) for this purpose. but as this is a bit complicated to use commandline tool, i thought, let's see if this task could be done by dbpoweramp.
well the result wasn't that convincing.
might be i did something wrong or dbpoweramp is not designed for this. anyway the sound of the converted wav was aweful. sounds as if there were a lots artifacts, very harsh.
analysed by soundforge's spectrum analyzer the frequency-curve looked very much altered from the mid range on.

did i miss installing a special plugin?

or if this is in any way not a good idea to do with dbpoweramp, maybe a plugin could be written to do this thoroughly in dbpoweramp?
best on basis of the ssrc tool....

btw. i did this kind of samplerate conversion for years with wavelab's plugin.
but ssrc produces clearly better results, especially in the very high range.
some might say, no chance to hear the difference anyway, but there are people who did not want to have their dats any little bit diminished (even if it can't be heard). well......

is it a two pass-, or one pass conversion?

...hmmm. what do you think about an option for two pass conversion and another option for using the ssrc_hp.exe?

How would 2 pass help? it is not determining bit rate, rather a fixed function frequency transformation, AFAIK no frequency transformations use 2 passes.

                Re: samplerate conversion using dbpoweramp

Hello! I just purchased your great Software and do need some help because this thread from 2009 does not help me as the software seems to have other functions/menus now:

I want to transform the frequency from a AIF 24bit 96khz to an AIF 24bit 48khz.
Which is the best method for getting the highest possible quality? Just set the Sample rate under encoding or leaving it and add a resample dsp effect (sounds more alive for my ears but that might be imagination?)?
                Or maybe something completely different...

                Thanks and kind regards

They should both be using the same routine, however to be certain use the dsp effect.
