point dBpoweramp to previously installed codec

I just installed dBpoweramp. I want to use it with flacs. I already have the flac codec installed, but I cannot see how to point dBpoweramp to the existing codec. Is it really necessary to download and install the codec again? It's not big, but I don't like cluttering up my computer with duplicate stuff.

What do you mean by you installed "dBpoweramp"? Did you install the music converter or the audio player or what?

Visit codec central, our FLAC codecs are different than the .exe encoder you might have, or to put another way there is no universal .exe FLAC decoder which programs use so they write their own.
