MAJOR headache re: batch converting WAV to MP3

    Hi

I specifically bought the reference version of dbpoweramp after this thread http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=17882

i have reference version 13 and have a directory structure of wavs in a format similar to

    f:/wavs/vangelis blade runner/01) main titles.wav
    f:/wavs/vangelis blade runner/02)blade runner.wav
    f:/wavs/queen best of/01) bohemian rhapsody.wav

    etc etc

i want this exact structure duplicated as MP3s in another location eg

    f:/mp3s/vangelis blade runner/01) main titles.mp3
    f:/mp3s/vangelis blade runner/02)blade runner.mp3
    f:/mp3s/queen best of/01) bohemian rhapsody.mp3

The WAVs do not have any meta tags - i just want the folder names/ names retained

Im really struggling with how to do it - i try to use the 'dbpoweramp batch converter' option on right-click but options there are limited. it always chucks the output files in one folder

i bought this software specifically fo this task - its useless to me if i cant do this conversion project - if someone could help me id be most appreciative james

Enable dynamic Naming (on the page where you select the codec) and enter:

    [trimfirstfolder]mp3s\[origpath]\[origfilename][]

thats on the screen you get when you right click on an individual file

if you right click on a folder to batch convert, it only gives you the batch convert program

this rogram does not appear to have dynamic options

      what am i doing wrong?

Select the files you want to convert in the batch converter, when you click "convert", the normal conversion window will come up. Then just set the drive to F:\mp3 and put dynamic naming to [trimfirstfolder][origpath]\[origfilename][]

problem: as in my op in the other topic its approx 7000 files within 1500ish folders (in one big folder)

how can i set it to scan the folder and duplicate anything it finds as mp3?

That is what Batch Converter is for, put a tick mark in the root folder of your music.

Yes, as long as you use the dynamic naming structure I put in my last post.
