    can I just delete getpopupinfo.exe?

It just launches as many of itself as it wants, uses up all my CPU and really does not help me in anyway that I can see as useful. If it didn't cause all the problems it does on almost every media file I have, I wouldn't care, but this is a little rediculous...

Running dbPowerAmp 12.4 with all the codecs up to date.

Try r13.1 and see if it helps first.

I'd rather not upgrade just for this, 12.4 does what I need, and I don't want to pay for 13 if I don't need it, at least until theres a linux version... ;-)

        m4a and mp3 files.

Try to find out if it is the m4a or mp3 files which is causing the problem (hold the mouse over and look at task manager).
