    "Get Popup Info" slowing me down...

    I don't know why but Multiple instances of Get Popup Info spontaniously run on my machine and they consume approx 25% of my resources EACH. Let's see 25% X 4 instances = a very slow machine. I can kill em off in Task Mgr one by one and then things return to normal, but I don't want them consuming any resources at all espescially since I'm not using dBPoweramp ripper or music convertor at the time. I'm not even looking at file properties when this happens. Why do these fire up like that, Why do they consume so many resources and how do I get it to stop?
    I'm running Vista Ultimate 32bit and dBPowerAmp 13.1 registered.

    Thank You

    Out of curiosity, open a folder in explorer. Is this option selected?
    Explorer Window->
    Tools/Folder Options->
    View/Advanced Settings->
    Launch folder windows in a separate process

    Normally it is not selected.

      What are your audio files?, it is not normal for getpopup info to take any cpu time (unless you have switched on bitrate column etc in the Windows Explorer)

        Moved to the dMC section of the forum.
        GetPopupInfo is normally called when you mouse over an audio file, not when you look at the properties of the file. Is this drive a local drive or a network drive?
