    Error reading ID3v1 tag

    Hi, I have a load of music left over from my old Creative Zen player. I think they're all MP3's. So far I haven't found a way to get these songs into i-tunes.

    Have just downloaded DB Convertor, then the m4A nero codec, then the neroAacEnc file which I copied into the encoder folder (to the m4a Nero (AAC) folder).

    So got this far and can now select the m4a option in Poweramp convertor without any error messages, but when I actually try to convert it fails and I'm left with the message: Error reading ID3v1 tag

    Any ideas on what I can try next?!

    Thanks.

    Try selecting "Test Conversion" as your codec and see if you still get that error. Where did these mp3 files originally come from?

      Same with Test Conversion:

      Error reading ID3v1 tag. [clDecoder::ReadIDTags]

      The files come from a variety of sources; downloads, CD's etc. But they've all been processed through the Creative Software, if that makes any difference.

      I tried converting them ages ago but didn't get anywhere, thought I'd have another bash before deleting them - bit annoying but not end of the world.

      Cheers.

        Re: Error reading ID3v1 tag

        Do any other programs, such as Winamp or Windows Media Player, read the tags of the file successfully?

          Ahem, bit embarrassed. Just checked the files again and seems like every one of them is 0 kilobytes in size. So no wonder they don't work. Oh well, in the bin they go. No biggee, will start afresh. Thanks for the help.
