Aiff to mp3 issue

I can convert aiff files to mp3 but my mp3 just comes out as static noise. What's wrong?

Are your AIFF files compressed? What program made the files? What are the specs (frequency, channels, bitrate or bits) of the files? Version of Windows and dMC your using?

My AIFF files are uncompressed.

It has 2 channels (stereo), sample rate 44.1 KHz, sample size 16 bit, sample rate 1411 kbps.

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate and dMC version 13.

Can you convert to Wave, just to test? What encoder settings did you pick for mp3?

Hi I´m a new user and i got the exact same problem, the only difference is my OS ( Windows XP Pro). Already tried to convert to Wave/ Ogg/ Mp3 Lame/ Mp3 Fraunhoffer and the result is always the same...entire musics become static noise; im going nuts with this :(

What does dMC say about the specs of your files, such as channels and bitrate and such?

The smallest is 30 MB. Any problems?

Hi Chancer,

Spoon asked me to take a look at your AIFF file.

The file is linear but encoded with the new "sowt" format. The AIFF codec doesn't currently support this and will need to be updated to accept this format. It's luckily a "quick fix"....

I'm trying to re-encode some files for my mp3 player ... same issue as above. How's the fix coming along?
