    error messages

    CODEC decompression error for '\\CdRom\Track02.cda'
    Unable to Rip track - make sure correct Ripping method is selected and CD Drive supports digital audio extraction.
    ========================================
    I just did a new install.
    I have no idea what to do about these two messages.

    How do I determine the "correct method"? I selected MP3 Lame.
    How do know if a drive supports digital audo extraction? The drive is in a Dell Dimension 4100 less than a year old.

    Any help or advice would be sincerely appreciated.

      Whoops... sorry. I should have thought to tell you that.

      I run Windows 2K with all service packs and patchs applied as of 2 weeks ago.

      I do have some more information on the CD drive. It is a Samsung SC-148C.

      I have a second RW CD drive I have not tried yet. It is a LG CED8080B.

      Thank you for the response.

        Try this:

        Audio CD Input >> Options >> Adavanced

        and set communication to 'Windows NT/2000 Built-in (Limited)'
