    Registered Version Confusion

    Hi one and all,

Recently I bought a new computer and although I have been using a registered version of dBpoweramp (with mp3) for quite a while now, instead of moving the old version across onto the new PC like a fool I downloaded the trial version of R13, thinking that I would be able to find a license number on my old version which I could then simply copy into the new version.

I did copy over the Powerpack registration file which I thought might have done the job, but when I was looking at the configuration file of dBpoweramp I see that it still says I am running the trial version and have 11 days left.

I visted the website and found where I could recover my registration details and subsequently did the 'Registered Download' it suggested. when it was going through the installation process I thought that it uninstalled the earlier R13 download, before it installed the Registered R13 version.

Even after doing that, when I went to the configuration page again, it still tells me that I am running the trial version and have 11 days left. I have to have dBpoweramp, and I have to have the mp3 codec, but having had it before I don't really want to pay again, excellent as the program is!

What do I do? Any help appreciated.

    Regards,

    AlanF

    Re: Registered Version Confusion

Is there any chance you are getting REFERENCE and REGISTERED confused? It sounds like you had the powerpack before and you may have installed the reference version.

      Re: Registered Version Confusion

Do you know, I think you could just be right! I have looked again at the config section and it does say "Reference - Trial" "Powerpack - Registered". I must just have seen the link to R13 and gone for it, just assuming that it was what I was looking for.

I think you have cracked the case! I do feel just ever such a little embarassed, but thanks for your help, I shall just have to be more careful next time.
