    Dbpoweramp R13 & DSP Effects & Player - Confused!

Want to change DSP Effects, Mainly equalizer, when converting/ripping a file. I believe this can only be done using the equalizer on dbpowerAMP Audio Player, (As I believe settings can be made whilst playing & then set & used when converting). How It's done I do not know. I know there were probs with the player using R12. Have they been fixed in R13? Also can anyone help or point me in the right direction on how to do this? If a file is changed due to DSP effects is this a permanent situation or can changes be reversed?

    TIA

Music Converter R13 has its own Graphic Equalizer DSP effect.

I know but how can you check the sound the dsp settings have changed before you re-encode the file beacause music converter R13 won't let you listen to the changes? I believe that I need to useDbpowerAMP Audio player. I know there were probs with the player using R12. Have they been fixed in R13? The player still doesn't work with r13, no. And applying a DSP effect such as the graphic equalizer or volume normalize alters the file and is not reversible.

Which IMO renders the DSP equalizer pretty useless!!

Basically surely this is a fundamental point. How can one apply DSP equalizer filters if you cannot preview the difference before changes are made????

I assume lack of answers on this one only fuels my believe that without player compatablity the DSP equalizer is rendered pretty useless. Of course if anyone can put me right I would be delighted.

I tend to agree, maybe not useless but certainly very limited. I have used the equalizer a few times by making settings, ripping a file, and then listening to the file and tweaking the EQ settings again and re-ripping. Very tedious and hard to get the best results. I would really like to use the EQ by trying it in the player first, it would make it very usefull. I really love dbPoweramp but a more usable EQ would make it much more powerful for me.

As much as I dislike "vendor-specific tags", this is maybe something to consider? As long as it is ignored by all software not supporting it, one may store the EQ curve as metadata and choose to commit it at a later point in time.
