    Fraunhofer Fast/High Quality frequency bug!

I've been trying to convert a 16bit 32khz Wave file to a 32khz 320kbps Fraunhofer MP3 in High quality mode.

But the resulting file is at 48khz!

The encoder only works correctly in Fast mode (the resulting file is at 32khz).

    Why is this?

Re: Fraunhofer Fast/High Quality frequency bug!

I've determined there is no difference between Fast and High quality mode!

    1) I took a 44.1khz Wav and encoded it to 320kbps Fraunhofer MP3 in both Fast and High quality.

    2) I then decoded the two MP3s to Wav and used Bit-Compare in foobar2000.

    3) Comparing:
    "C:\test\10 - Hold Your Colourfast.wav"
    "C:\test\10 - Hold Your Colourhigh.wav"
No differences in decoded data found.

So why even have the Fast and High quality option?

I still haven't found out why High quality mode is screwing with the frequency...
