Tag editor hangs on Soundminer tag

'Right click - edit ID tag' on a file with embedded Soundminer data causes the editor to become unresponsive. Soundminer embeds a text encoded copy of the cover art in the Mixartist field resulting in a large text field. When this field is removed from the file the tag editor behaves normally again.

Why is that program not using the propper PICT frame for storing album art?

It stores its own custom metadata in an xml file, part of which is the text encoded picture. It stores this xml file in the mixartist field. Is that a legal use of the tag?

No, but you could send one file and we will fix so will not crash (not to read as soundminer is on its own with its own unique implementation):

I don't think that its the soundminer data specifically thats causing the problem. It seems to be any field with a large amount of text will cause it. Is there a limit on the length of id3 text fields?

I would have to look at it (I have the file thanks), will see if can be fixed for R13.1
