Lose of tags when converting

I'm converting a series of .mp3 CBR 320 files to VBR -v2 using dMC R13. The original .mp3 files are tagged in IDSv2.3 UTF-16.

After converting a series of files I've found that all of the tags are missing on the new converted files. I've viewed them in Foobar, Mp3Tag Editor and via the context menu with dBa (Edit ID_Tag). All are gone.

I didn't have any DSP effects nor did I activate the two config parameters "drop replaygain ID tags" and "update source...". What's wrong?

On one of the source files, right click >> Edit Tag are the tags shown?

No. Thole thing is blank.

I meant.. the whole thing is blank.

Perhaps they are id3v2.4 which dbpoweramp will not read.

So dMC shows no tags on your source files? Do any other programs show tags on the source files?

The source files had the tags but the new converted ones did not.

I was pretty sure that my tags only had ID3v2.3 on them but went ahead and removed all other types as well. It's converting fine now.
