    Suddenly Stopped Working!

    Hi

Downloaded V12.4 a few days ago and has been downloading my cds into flac format effortlessly - have been very very pleased. However, earlier today for no apparent reason - when inserting a cd into the drive and selecting rip using dbpoweramp - it then just displays "Dvpoweramp cd ripper has stopped working - windows is checking for a solution - then - windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available - which of course it doesn't!

Any reason you can think why this might be? I've tried downloading a few alternatives - but yours is the best by far - if only I could get it to work again!! Please help!!! I've got a squeezebox arriving in a couple of days and desperately want to get all of my cds burnt!!

    Thanks

Re: Cd Ripper Suddenly Stopped Working - Using Vista!

Uninstall all dMC, reboot, reinstall. Also, what version of Vista? 32-bit or 64-bit?

      Hi there

Yes done that lots of times - I gather from reading other posts that it just seems to be a problem with vista. I'm now using EAC and running absolutely fine - if a little slower than DBpoweramp and not quite as straightforward.

      My vista is 32-bit

      Cheers

R12.4 had problems with some drives if you checked the 'cd-text' option, see this to clear all dbpoweramp options (and do a fresh install):

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

Just re-installed the program having done a clean delete of it and as an experiment re-checked the 'cd text' option and low and behold it has crashed again.

Thank you - I think that must be it - I'll not check that option again and hopefully will work ok.

          Thanks for your help
