batch converter: playlist as selection?

Is it possible to pass the Batch Converter a list of files, and have it select those? I'd prefer using a playlist as the list of files, but those are pretty easy to munge into something else.
I sometimes end up with fairly long and somewhat-random playlists (using MusicIP recursively), and if I have to go traveling, it'd be nice to get those converted into MP3 in a single folder so I can just copy 'em to a mobile player.

Is this a feature that is planned?
I would really love this, since I ripped all of our CD's to apple lossless, and offcourse they won't play on my girlfriends SonyEriccson Walkman phone. I'm looking for an easy way for her to overview our music collection, selecting the tracks that she wants, reencode to MP3 and then transfer to her phone.
If she could create playlists in itunes (she loves that program, won't switch it) and then just convert that playlist, It would be a good solution.

PS: I hope this doesn't interfere with the first poster...
