    WMA tag problems

hi, i noticed, since i started to use the dbp 12.4, that im having a little troubles when i play wma files on my car stereo, i can read without any problem the name of the album and the artist name but so often is hard to see only the name of the song, appears in first the full file name...using the old version i had not problems. im not using the wma beta enconders (tried all the enconders till the r5)
    only wma 9.2 losses.

can someone help me? there is a bug to fix on the last version of dbpoweramp?
    thanks.

The bug is likely in your car stereo (you can load the wma file into Windows Media Player to view the ID Tags).

Can you compare those wma files created with the previous version of dMC and see if there are any obvious differences?

For example, were they created with different versions of the wma codec?

        Re: WMA tag problems

        I made some tests:

        1) With dmc 12.4 using the encoders dBpoweramp-Codec-WMA10Pro(from r1 to r6) i have tag problems.

        2) With dmc 12.1 using all the encoders dBpoweramp-Codec-WMA10Pro(from r1 to r4) i had no problems.

I use to compress all the files using wma 9.2 lossy through the wma10PRO codec.
The problem appear using the last version of dmc (12.4) with the same encoder.

Install the [audio info] utility codec, right click on 2 files (same audio content, one from r12.4 the other r12.1), convert to >> Audio info and enable the extensive audio info option, post the results here please.

              Re: WMA tag problems

              The only difference is:

              WM/EncodedBy: Lame 3.97 V2
              Encoded By: Lame 3.97 V2

But changing music converter version would not change these, different WMA codec versions would (dbpoweramp not Windows Media Audio codecs).

Try deleting that item (right click >> Edit Tag >> select and delete) and see if the player can play the file.

Hi spoon, i did what you advised me, i tried it with so many files but i have not any change, i even canceled that voice on the 'good' file and it was working good.

maybe i need to turn back to use the old version of dmc?
