    Clarity and normalization

    Hello,

It was my understanding that the process of normalization helps the overall clarity and quality of your mp3's. After normalizing a few files I didnt hear much of a difference from the originals. I followed some hints from other posts and none really helped. Am I misunderstanding the normalization process? If so how would I go about making my mp3's more clear sounding? I have many that are very "scratchy" or have too much bass in the case of double bass drums.

    Thanks

It will not help the clarity (or should I say quality), it is purely volume - so if you have 2 mp3 files and one sounds half as loud as the other Normalizing should bring them all to the same volume.

Thanks Spoon. Can you recommend any software that might accomplish what I'm looking for. A lot of my mp3's, no matter how many of the same song I dl, aren't all that clear. Rather than dl 20 of the same song I'd rather just try to fix the ones I have. Anything you can recommend is appreciated.

        I don't think such a program exists.
