Scandinavian characters

It seems that DMC can't handle scandinavian characters (ä and ö etc.) or any characters outside 7-bit ASCII properly. This problem occured to me when ripping a CD to OGG. DMC didn't write the fields which contained special characters properly. For example:
ARTIST=Björk would be just ARTIST=Bj
ARTIST=Röyksopp -> ARTIST=R
etc.
