    AMG album art small...

Everything working great now (after initial hiccup with Vista UAC!) but the whole point of moving from EAC/iTunesEncode/iTunes - was to get the ripping and the album art downloading in one go - but sadly the artwork from AMG is too small even at maximum 250 x 250 - even the smallest Amazon is 300 x 300 or so and most are nearer 500 x 500 - when displaying cover art in iTunes in full screen mode the embedded artwork is very pixelated and poor resolution :-/

    Am I missing something perhaps?

dMC r13, currently in alpha, downloads album art at the maximum size AMG has and resizes it down to 500 pixels, by default. This sounds like what you want.

It just gets better! :-) Thanks will give it a try, and must say I am beginning to see why lots of folk over at slimdevices forum recommend dMC. It seems to be in constant development and always pushing the boundaries of what can be done at the present state of the ripping scene. I have been reading the batch ripping threads for the new commercial end product - fascinating, have been thinking of offering a ripping service (when I eventually get it sorted for myself!) for my own audiophile group and the local hi-fi shop :-)

I am at the moment ripping to WMA lossless and importing into iTunes ALAC - so I can listen on the PC with lovely coverflow art full screen, and listen on my Meridian system in the living room using SqueezeCenter and SqueezeBox - now have to decide if I want to convert existing AIFF's (about 150Gb) to ALAC to reclaim a bit of space - all good fun!

Well like I say - within the limitations of whats possible right now :-) Any news on linking up with GD3 yet? Ripstation Micro gets some lovely big artwork from there?

Just as an aside, I would very much like to pay for this, if we want this stuff to migrate into the 21st century then it must be supported by decent revenue. A good ripper, with access to accurate meta data and hi-def cover art is essential if I or anyone else expect to sell multi room installations - 250 x 250 is not impressive on a 50" screen (just ask Microsoft what on earth they are doing with just this problem in Vista MC - absolutely damn all as far as I can tell!!).
