Just downloaded trial and AMG expired!!

Hi there, I have just downloaded trial of reference version, installed all codecs I needed and it doesn't recognise the basic of cd's I insert which have been identified before countless times by EAC and iTunes. Then I notice that AMG says it has expired and the only way to get freedb to look at disc is to ask it specifically on the 'retrieve from' menu. I presume this is why when it does recognise a cd it has no artwork displayed?

I also note that I can't perform an Secure rip as this option is grayed out. Never had dB before so no idea whats going on. Is Spoon about, anyone help :-)

PS. Just found that all meta data providers were unticked by default (hmm not very sensible?) so it will now look up disc I said it couldn't - so sorry dBp - but still no AMG as it has still expired and no secure rip :-/

    Tim.

Install into a administrator account, if you are using Vista then the trial is not activated as it is elevated to administrator.

Ah! Brilliant thanks - it is always something simple - if you know! Should have tried that as when I was playing with Ripstation Micro I had to run as administrator..doh!

Thanks again for prompt reply...now lets get on with the trial...:smile2:

Sorry if I'm being daft here (probably)... I also downloaded the trial last week and found the reference features (like secure ripping) are greyed out - AMG says it's expired etc. I'm using Vista.

I just found this thread and did as suggested - installed as admin. Everything seems to work fine when I'm logged in as admin. However if I log in as a normal user things don't work again - greyed out, AMG expired, no mp3 encoding, etc.

Does this mean even if I register I'd have to use the software as an admin user? I don't really want to do that...

It's a really nice bit of software BTW, I hope I can get it working as a normal user. If so I shall do something very rare and part with some cash...:smile2:

        all the best,
        Martin

You have to elevate your account to Administrator, activate the trial, then lower it back down to a normal user account.
