Converting files after checksum verification

I verified some files with QuickSFV, and it updated an "already checked" list. Now dbpoweramp won't do the (flac to ogg) conversion. This is on Win2000.

Can anyone explain how to fix this?

What error message do you get when trying to convert? What version of dMC are you using?

I don't get an error message. Instead, dMC finishes almost immediately, producing very small files which don't play. Version is 12.3.0.1

Probably, but I don't know what it was QuickSFV edited. What does dMC look at? It was something dMC cares about.

We use FLACs libraries, I am guessing most if not all programs will now not touch those files.

I believe that spoon was referring to QuickSFV touching something, not FLAC.

Implied in that is that perhaps you used QuickSFV incorrectly in such a way that it corrupted the FLAC files? Alternately, a bug in QuickSFV corrupted the files.

A question: can any playback software play back the FLAC files you verified with QuickSFV?

Finally we arrive. The answer to your question is yes, which I already knew. What I didn't know until I checked again is that it does so by ignoring the timing information, which QuickSFV has erased.

So far the easiest way I've found to fix the problem is to convert using the Flac converter (Flac 1.2.1) instead. This restores the timing information. While it turns out to be a QuickSFV bug and not a dMC bug, I think it would be a good plan to adopt this system.
