    Where's the WMA 9.2 codec?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't find the download link specifically for the WMA 9.2 codec. (The "WMA Pro" codec seems to be a variant of v9.1)

As described on the Codec Central page for Windows Media Audio, "Windows Media Audio 9.2 (not voice, lossless or professional) is backwards compatible with all playback devices," which I'm very interested in, because I can't get playback on my portables with versions 9.0, 9.1 or 10.0.

    Where should I be looking?

Thanks, and my apologies if I've overlooked something obvious.

I believe WMA 9.2 has been replaced by the WMA 10 codec.
When you encoded to WMA, did you chose normal WMA and not WMA Pro or anything like that?

I believe that if you download the WMA V10 Pro Codec, when you go to rip/convert to WMA your first option will be WMA 9.2. That should be what you want.

      Best wishes,
      Bill

Does that mean I'd have to get R12?

Yes, codec development for R11.x stopped about 1 year ago.
