Normalize improvements

Hello,

Would it be possible to improve the normalize DSP effect so that it worked more like The Levelator which includes both an adaptive compressor/limiter and a noise gate in order to expand the s/n ratio of a track?

My usage would be for speech podcasts where we want to increase the intelligibility of the speech but not unduly increase the background noise level. The Levelator is excellent at this, but it is GUI only which is a pain as I really want to be able to script this as I can with CoreConverter.

For advanced processing we allow DirectX or VST effects to be applied, can you find similar with those?

Ah, I didn't know that. I'll have a look around and see if there is anything suitable.
