Try different CD-R discs, then a different writer drive if you have access to it.

Even if CD Writer (the program) was to write garbage audio it should not cause problems for a program to read it.

If you convert the files to WAV and then try to burn, does it work?
If you burn just 7 tracks, does it work?
What if you burn just track 8 to the CD?

I am having this same problem. I tried converting to wav first and that didn't help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am having this same problem.
It's not clear what you mean. If your problem is gaps between tracks, you can use dCW (dBpoweramp D Writer), to burn a gapless CD. However, some CD players will still insert very short gaps between tracks, even if they are burned gaplessly. If your problem is with gaps between your tracks, are you sure the problem is not with your player? Can you describe your issue a bit more (what you are trying to achieve, what version of dCW and dMC, and any other software you are using).

          Best wishes,
          Bill

Sorry to be unclear. I was referring to this problem:
"Reloaded Music Converter and CD Writer...no change...I am converting 8 mp3 files to gapless CD80min and all convertions work great from track 1 to 7. When it is done and burned on a CD all work fine from track 1 to track 8 but it is the last few seconds as track 8 ends it seems to die out / skip / pause and comes up as an error on Media player on Vista....took it to my vehicle, plugged it in and the last track did the same thing....heading down the idea that the burner is not working correctly. I took the next cd to burn (1 of 10 I need to do in a set of 4000) and tried it again burning at different rates, and still same result. Whatever I have tried does not seen to change the result....I am doing basic converting with simple mp3 files so it should be simple...thinking on the burner....any idea on where to start?"

Here's some things to look at:

Is it always the last track that messes up on the CDs you burn (or always the #8 track), or does the issue come up in random tracks? How long are the CDs you are burning (in minutes)? When you are setting up the CD for burning are you using the right gapless CD setting (in minutes) for the blank CDs you are using?

              Best Wishes,
              Bill

                Thanks for the quick replies!

It's always the last track, not random tracks. The CDs I am using are 80 minutes long and I have dbpoweramp CD Writer set for 80 minutes gapless. These are the exact CDs I am using: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...19&catid=12500

                Any ideas?

Also, I am writing at 16x speed (it's the slowest I can go).

                    A few more questions:

Are you activating Buffer Underwriting Protection option (which shows after you hit the Burn CD button, should try activating this)?

Are you sure that when you hit the Burn CD button and the Burn CD window appears that you cannot set the Writer Speed below 16x (this is set, as you may know, by hitting the arrow on the side of the display for the Writer Speed, this should open a menu list of available writer speeds)?

Have you tried using a different drive (assuming you have 2 drives capable of burning CDs)?

If you take a CD project (like the first one you described which had 8 tracks, the first 7 of which burned OK) and remove the last track (so you are only burning those first 7 tracks), will the shorter CD burn OK or will the new last track still have problems? If the shorteer CD works OK, then you might be burning too close to the 80 minute limit (I have generally found it helpful to burn at least a few minutes shorter than 80 minutes as I have noted occasional problems with CDs that burn too close to their limit - although the problems noted are at least in part a function of the CD player as some players handle such discs better than other players do).

Have you tried using a different disc?

Hope some of this might be helpful.

                    Best wishes,
                    Bill

So I have another CD burner and I tried that and it worked. I guess the software didn't agree with my HPdvd740 Lightscribe DVD burner. Weird. Anyway, thanks for your help!
