Help with deleting silence between tracks.

I have a 8 .MP3 tracks that I want to burn onto a CD, but need to delete the silence between the track. ( it is really a long .wma file recorded at a seminar, broken out in 8 tracks and converted to .cda format). Like to achieve all 8 tracks seamlessly running from one to another but still have the capability of using the forward button on your cd player if you want to skip ahead to the next track.....suggestions?

Assuming you have Music Converter (dMC) 12+, use the beta r3 version of CD Writer (which does install to the same folder as dMC r12+ and uses the same codecs-the ones from Codec Central). You can find this in the beta section of this forum. Before adding your tracks to the CD, select the option to burn a gapless CD. CD Writer r2 will always add a gap, so you need CD Writer r3 to do a gapless CD.

Please note that some players will insert a short gap between tracks on playback, so a gapless CD burned with CD Writer r3 may play back with a short gap (far shorter than the mandatory 2 second gap-if I recall correctly-that CD Writer r2 and r1 place between tracks, but a gap nonetheless). But this will be due to the player, not to CD Writer r3.

    Best wishes,
    Bill

Ok, works great.....2 more problems arrived....
      1) When I get the 8 tracks into converter and look at the CD, I can't get the tracks in logical order....the tracks come out different than what I loaded.

      2) After I burn the cd, I go out to my car and try to play it...does not work. Plays great on windows media and I think it is the lead in problem....in the previous version, I could select it but cannot find it....yet.

Fixed the issue on burning the tracks in order.....just needed to follow the usual file structure..only one thing remaining....how do I get the cd player in my car to recognize the CD......car is 10 years old but plays any CD that you buy...

Try different CD-R brands, old CD players can find it tough going reading CD-R discs.

Some blank CD-Rs are labelled as Music CD-Rs or as Audio CD-Rs. In my limited understanding and experience, these cost more than standard CD-Rs but they have a much greater likelihood of being played without problems by older CD players.

Also, burn your CD at 24x or slower for better compatability.

Anyone can help on this issue. I need to convert mp3 to cda. CD Writer has the gapless 80min burn for cda that I am looking for but the converter does not have the .cda codec. I have converter version 13.1.....

There is no .cda file, it is a virtual representation of audio on an audio disc. CD writer is the correct program to write 'cda' files.

Thanks...I verified the writer has the cda capability. My problem is that the version of converter does not do mp3 to cda conversion. You helped me before and I think I had to download a beta version of dbpoweramp converter that had the capability of changing mp3 to cda. That is were I am stuck. Did it before several months ago if you look at the beginning of the thread...what you told me then worked great...just cannot seem to find the beta version.

If you install R13 and CD Writer (latest version) you can right click on audio files Convert To >> Audio CD

                        Thanks...dunno where the brain was.

Have not been back for a few months...now I am converting 8 mp3 tracks to audio and all the tracks work perfectly...until I listen to the last track few seconds at the end. The music is slowly cutting in and out and sometimes the media player or car cd player will say it cannot read the disc and kicks it out.

I am writing at 4x up to 16x speed and trying all different formats. All I have changed from the previous successful burns are:
                        -Added album art

                        Any suggestions?

Make sure you are using the latest CD Writer (reinstall it) there were fixes in the past.

Did that....same result...I am going to reload converter ect and try again.

Seems like the last few seconds drop out sort of lead out problem...any thoughts?

Reloaded Music Converter and CD Writer...no change...I am converting 8 mp3 files to gapless CD80min and all convertions work great from track 1 to 7. When it is done and burned on a CD all work fine from track 1 to track 8 but it is the last few seconds as track 8 ends it seems to die out / skip / pause and comes up as an error on Media player on Vista....took it to my vehicle, plugged it in and the last track did the same thing....heading down the idea that the burner is not working correctly. I took the next cd to burn (1 of 10 I need to do in a set of 4000) and tried it again burning at different rates, and still same result. Whatever I have tried does not seen to change the result....I am doing basic converting with simple mp3 files so it should be simple...thinking on the burner....any idea on where to start?

I had a recent computer running XP and it all worked excellent so maybe the burner...think the vista system is ok...
