I recently upgraded to dbPowerAmp 12.4 from 11.5. Both versions are registered. After the upgrade, I noticed a problem with the pop-up information tips with some (but not all) of my files. Sometimes the bit rate is incorrect. All of my files are encoded at 128kbps (CBR). However, sometimes the pop-up shows much higher bit rates. For example, one file shows a bit rate of 863kbps. Other programs (such as Winamp) show the correct bit rate of 128kbps. If the bit rate is incorrect, then other information is also incorrect, such as the length and original size. However, I think these fields are derived from the bit rate.
If I try to convert one of these files using dbPowerAmp, the file appears to convert correctly, but the new file is much shorter than the original.
I have used dbPowerAmp successfully on thousands of files. But this new release has me worried. I could be corrupting my files without even knowing it. Should I de-install and revert to the older release?
