update registration from 11.5 to 12.x?

I've been using R11.5 registered for a long time and am very wary of upgrading to R12 because of all the problems it has and all the things it is still missing according to forum posts. Since I see that R13 is on the horizon, I'm willing to try R12 after a few more utility codecs available in R11.5 show up in R12.

My only problem with R11.5 is that popup info tips suddenly stopped working last year and none of the advice I got in this forum about how to fix that worked; instead I was told to upgrade to R12 (thread 13271). I decided I could live without popup info tips, as cool as they are, because everything else works OK and all the codecs I want are in R11.5.

I've looked over all the forums and haven't found a simple answer to my question, which is: since this web page http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc-power-register.htm says

"Power Pack & mp3 License $18 includes:

* 1 year AMG access
* Free upgrades for life"

do the free upgrades start with R12 or do R11.5 registered users get free upgrades for life as well? If so, how does one upgrade for free?

It's not that $18 is a lot of money, it's that if $0 is possible, it sounds better.

It is free to upgrade from dMC 11.5 to the powerpack version of r12.4. You only have to pay if you want to upgrade to the Reference version.

To download the r12.4 powerpack version I think that all you need to do is use the link http://www.dbpoweramp.com/registration/ and input your original order number.

I jumped through the Captcha & such hoops, uninstalled my R11.5 and installed R12.4 registered. Unfortunately, my no Pop-up Info Tips problem still exists in R12.4, but that's a separate issue, so I opened another post about it entitled "No Pop-up Info Tips in R12.4; just like in R11.5."

Maybe I'll go back to R11.5.
