I have a portable CD/MP3/WMA player that does not play V9 WMA files correctly, all files above 128 Kb/s produce pops and/or clicks. V7 and V8 files seem to play fine.
I installed three of the four WMA codecs in dBpowerAMP, V7, V8 and V9, but they do not appear to produce different results. That is, if I convert the same wave file using V7, V8 or V9 the file size appears the same. I have not had a chance to try the latest converted files from dBpowerAMP in my CD player and frankly I don't want to waste a blank CD just to see if the converted files will play correctly.
I have the V9 codec installed from MS, will this prohibit me from converting my wave files to V7 or V8 using dBpowerAMP or does the program use its own internal codec? I assume that installing the V9 codec removed the V8 codec I had previously installed.
Thanks.
