    m4b codec not found

Trying to convert a batch of mp3 to m4b. They are all on CD, when I highlight a bunch of them, rt click and convert to m4b it goes through all of them quickly and says it couldn't open the converter. If I highlight only one then it converts it fine. I have the Nero plugin installed and it is pointing to it correctly (since it can convert a single file).

If I copy the files to my HD it seems to convert the batch ok. Is it a lag time issue accessing mult files on CD that times out dB? Would love a workaround that doesn't involve me having to copy to HD every time I do a batch convert from CD.

FTR, I converted a small batch successfully earlier today - worked around 20x which seemed ok; but it won't seem to work now (even rebooted, etc.)

      Error converting to m4b (Audio Book), 'D:\20 Core Principles MP3' to 'C:\Documents and Settings\DoctorTim\My Documents\My Music2\20 Core Principles MP3.m4b'
Error: Unable to load decoder for file type '.', codec not installed? visit 'Codec Central'. [dBCoreConverter::dBCoreConverter]

the codec is installed and works fine if source is my hard drive.

Some how dBpoweramp is set to decode '.' files, perhaps you have the direct show decoder loaded and set wrong. See dBpoweramp Configuration, it will show which Codec is decoding '.'

Would that affect decoding multiple files from DVD drive only? It works fine decoding from my hard drive, or single files from DVD drive. I'm still wondering if DVD access time is throwing the program off (or some other peculiarlity about DVD access vs HD access).

I have DVD rebuilder and Canopus ProCoder installed and it's quite possible they have changed some directshow settings. I don't see where in the db config screen that I can see what codec is being used. Here is a capture of the codecs section

Is the fact that the file name is "20 Core Principles MP3" rather than "20 Core Principles.MP3" have anything to do with it?

Make sure you are using R12.4 there was a similar issue a few versions back.
