    Re: dbpoweramp help

Version 10 was the last version of Music Converter that was done before Thomson started asking dBpowerAMP (and other program developers as well) to pay a licensin g fee for the use of .mp3 technology. Without the Power Pack it was free but it is no longer available to the public.
Version 11.5 and version 12.4 are both available but both require the Power Pack/.MP3 license if you want to convert audio to .MP3 format. Both exist as free versions which can convert .MP3 files to other formats but cannot create .MP3 files. The Power Pack does contain other features that do add to these programs. The Power Pack/.MP# license is transferable to future versions of Music Converter.

    Hope this answers your questions.

    Best wishes,
    Bill

So, the version 10.1 that im using can make mp3 format and ll make it forever on my pc without expiring? And im interested if this is version is good without bugs. For me its important that works well and its free, before i was using easy cd ripper for ripping and all converter for converting in mp3 but i prefer dbpoweramp

R12 is vastly improved on R10, see the version changes for a very large list of enhancements.

To add to what Spoon has said:
If you only work with wave and .MP3, and don't mind doing without the Power Pack enhancements you can get by with dMC r10. Currently most of the Legacy codecs (for dMC r11.5 and earlier) should work with dMC r10 but I would not think that these will be available indefinitely. dMC r 11.5 and dMC r12 do work much better than dMC r10, in my experience. dMC r12 is approved for Vista whereas the earlier versions are not (to the best of my knowledge-definitely not r10). Overall I think you will be bette served going with r12+ with the Power Pack and .MP3 license but the choice is yours.

For Version 12, is the power pack/mp3 license a one time purchase or must one continue to renew the license annually?
