What kind of problem are you having? No tags in the mp3 file? Were there in the WAV file to start with?

      Seedy-
It is not clear whether you are having the problem of having a converted mp3 file with no tag information or missing tag information (as LtData has suggested), or whether you are having a problem with an apparently successful conversion from wav to mp3 where the mp3 file you created is just a shell file (typically 0 to 3 kb) that cannot be played.

If you have the first kind of problem, you would be able to play your mp3 file. If you have the second type of problem, you do not have a playable mp3 file.

The first type of problem might arise if you start with a wav file without any tag information (wav standard does not call for tagging and wav tags have traditionally not carried tag information although certain programs have devised means of attaching tags onto wav files now). It might arise if you had a tag but turned off the option to write tag information onto your converted file. If this is your problem and you need help solving it, please post back and provide a few more details.

I suspect, however, that you have the second type of problem. When this problem occurs, the actual conversion seems to occur extremely fast but the converted mp3 file is an unplayable shell file. There may be a few ways to diagnose and fix this problem (assuming you still have the original wav file).

First is to take the wav file and convert it to test conversion (the same process as converting to mp3 except that where you designate mp3 as your output format, select Test Conversion instead). All test conversions tend to go very quickly but the test conversion is supposed to tell you whether Music Converter is able to read your wav file or not. If the test conversion is not successful, this tends to suggest a problem with the source file. If the test conversion is successful, then the problem lies elsewhere. The problem has been known to arise from the settings for the output file and changing these might lead to a successful conversion. In other cases, a source file that has a different frequency and/or other significant differences from the designated settings for the output file might be the culprit. If there is a difference in frequecy (say your wav file is 48 kHz and your mp3 frequency setting is 44.1 kHz) using Professional Frequency Conversion is helpful. This can be activated through dMC Configuration. If you have this second type of problem and cannot fix it on your own, let us know whether you were able to do a successful test conversion and tell us about the settings (PCM or ACM, frequency, channels, bits) of your wav file and confirm that it is playable and also tell us about the settings (especially bitrate/quality setting, channels, frequency, and quality setting) you are using for your mp3 output file.

If you do fix it on your own, you might also post about how you did it in case someone with the same problem sees this thread and wonders how this all turned out.

      Good luck and best wishes,
      Bill

        Bill,
        Your second scenario is accurate.
I will try your suggestions and rsvp
        Thanks
