dMC & File Conversion

I've been using dMC for a few years now, and I've recently switched to using Windows Vista.

I installed dMC several days after purchasing my new computer (with Vista pre-installed), and dMC installed perfectly. No problems at all. I even used it on a trial conversion after installation, and it did its job.

I just tried to convert some FLAC files over to.wav, and I received a message telling me that the FLAC Decoder could not be found, which is funny because I also installed the dbPowerAmp Flac codec the same day I installed dMC.

So, I chose to re-install dMC. After doing so, I again tried to convert my FLAC files to .wav, and now, when I right-click on the FLAC file for conversion, my "Convert File To" option, which was there prior to the re-installing, is no longer there.

I've gone to the actual FLAC site and downloaded the actual FLAC program, yet nothing is working as smoothly as it was before. What step/file am I missing here?

Perhaps your flac files have a .fla extension? or .flac?

So what, if any, flac decoder am I missing because I'm certain I installed the correct one?

I have all the codecs installed, but for some reason, it only converts about 9 seconds of the file.

As long as I've been using dbPowerAmp I've never run into this problem.

This is what I have installed right now:

-dbPowerAmp Music Converter

-dbPowerAmp - Codec - FLAC

It's the same software I had installed when I was using XP, and I never encountered any problems like this. So, again, what am I missing here?

Make sure you have not added any DSP effects, such as a Set Length.

That doesn't look familiar, so I'm certain I didn't.

But, in the event I was paying close attention when installing/re-installing, where can I find this?

UPDATE: Never mind. I found it. It's at the bottom of the DMC under the "Options" folder as "DSP EFFECTS/ACTIONS", and there's an "ADD" button off to the right. I haven't clicked that button, so I take it that it hasn't been added, right?

Could it be that one file? or all files are only 9 seconds?

I finally figured out what the problem was.

I took one of two versions of the Zeppelin reunion show that I had loaded from Dime off of my laptop, and transferred it to my desktop.

I assumed this show had completed loading (it's been sitting in my laptop's hard drive for about a month), so when I tried to convert the files over to .wav, it wouldn't do it because the show was not, in fact, done loading.

I found this out by loading a Pink Floyd show off Dime which had over 100 seeders. As soon as that was done, I tried to convert the entire show over and BICKETY-BAM! everything converted over flawlessly.

So, all I had done was taken the wrong Zeppelin show off my laptop.

Geez...I felt like such a noob.
