Greetings Poweramp Gurus!
Brand new external cd drive rips up to 32x! Which led me to this consideration (please bear with): It takes a little bit for the drive to reach max rip speed but the individual songs ripped from source cd are generally just short enough that cd drive has to power down as soon as 32x is reached or even before while encoding process occurs in between each accurate rip check. So, its this mad stopping and starting for the drive--ripping continuity is constantly interrupted as each song is encoded individually, piecemeal. Why not accurate rip the entire cd first then encode songs, one after the other? In this way, cd drive is able to maintain maximum rip speed from song to song without all the powering up and down (this cant be good for the drive's machinery). I hope this is clear enough.
T'anks.
